1. Who runs this site

This website, northwind.us, belongs to Northwind Computers, Inc. (“Northwind,” “we,” “us”), a managed IT company at 1821 W Washington St in Boise, Idaho.

These terms cover your use of the website. By using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use it.

2. What the site is for

The site describes our services and gives you ways to contact us. Its pages are general information. They are not advice about your own systems, and reading them does not make you a client.

We work to keep the site accurate, but we can change or remove anything on it at any time, and some of it may be out of date when you read it. If you are a client, your signed agreement with us sets out what we do for you. Nothing on this site changes that agreement.

3. What you send us

The text, photographs, illustrations, and the Northwind name and logo belong to Northwind or are used with permission. Client names, logos and quotes belong to those clients.

You may link to any page on the site and share those links. Ask us before you copy or reuse our content anywhere else.

6. Links to other sites

Some links lead to sites we do not run, such as Google Maps and our social media pages. Those sites have their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for what they publish or how they handle your information.

7. Service work and your data

This section applies to repairs, consultations and any other service we provide, not to browsing this website. It was previously published as our data policy.

Data backup responsibility

We highly recommend that all clients and customers back up their data, including files, documents, photos, software, and any other information stored on their devices, prior to submitting them for any service or repair to Northwind Computers. Regular data backups are an important precautionary measure to prevent data loss.

No liability for data loss

While we make every effort to provide exceptional service and expertise, we want to be transparent about our policy: Northwind Computers shall not be liable for any loss, corruption, or damage to data stored on your device(s) during the course of any service, repair, or consultation. This includes data loss due to hardware malfunctions, software issues, virus infections, or any other unforeseen circumstances.

Release of liability

By using our services, you acknowledge and agree that Northwind Computers, its employees, agents, and representatives are released from any and all liability for data loss that may occur during the provision of our services, repairs, or consultations, regardless of the cause of such data loss.

8. Limits on our liability

We provide this website as it is. We do not promise that it will always be available, accurate or free of errors.

To the extent the law allows, Northwind is not liable for any loss that comes from using this website or relying on what it says. Your agreement with us, and section 7 above, cover the services we provide.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. When we do, we will post the new version on this page and change the date at the top. If you keep using the site after that, the new version applies.
