I first began using Northwind’s services 15 years ago, when I was hired as a nonprofit Executive Director. Since then, one of the first things I do when I begin working at a new organization is to move IT support to Northwind. Northwind staff is great, always current, proactive, conscious of cost and budgets while keeping your actual needs in mind. As the Director of Finance & Administration for the Idaho Conservation League (while relatively small compared to a lot of for-profit companies, ICL is a mid-sized and growing nonprofit, with offices in several locations in Idaho), I knew we needed help with managing IT. With the complexity of today’s IT and tech world, we need regular and ongoing tech support to be sure we stay current and safely online. Finding that one person to join our staff was not realistic, given our budget and all that we need to manage. Northwind is a one-stop shop for us, perfectly fitting our needs. They are large enough to have redundancy and capacity to respond to our emergencies at a moment’s notice, but small enough that they know who we are, what we do, and how they can best help. Every single person at Northwind is helpful, smart, and genuine. We know each other by name, and they understand our needs, our abilities and our technology well. They have helped us with online security and protection, supported us as we elevate our mass emailing system- including hosting our website on their servers- to ensure we are the gold standard as a safe sender. ICL staff are big fans of Northwind, as well, as Northwind’s tech support enables them to stay on task with little no downtime for computer woes. They monitor all our staff computers, mac, and pc so that we don’t need to worry that a security patch was skipped, or software is out of date. They help us plan for hardware replacement, have taken on projects including updating our late-1800s building, so we were able to seamlessly step into a VIOP system, and have actual fast internet for all our workstations. There is no sales pitch, just reliable, honest work. We consider Northwind an irreplaceable partner day in and day out.

We have been using Northwind Computers, Inc. since 2001, and I have to say they have been invaluable throughout the years. David, Cody, and the other staff have made it a point to be available when troubles happen and you need someone immediately. Our first experience with Northwind was when we were in the middle of a software conversion and everything was disastrous. David came in and ran our business off of a laptop and got us going as he rebuilt our server and made necessary changes to get us up and running. Before David came in we had another I.T. company come in to assist and they made the already bad problem worse. We have never stopped using them since. Northwind Computers has been essential, they have kept our computer systems running smoothly night or day. We are looking forward to continuing working with them in the years to come.
